4 Legged Australian Lottery- A Glance At The Winners: 2000 to 2014
Melbourne Cup is termed as a “Four Legged Lottery” in Australia. People bet over this 3200 meter race of horses of three year old and above. Conducted annually by the Victoria Racing Club on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria, the event starts at 3pm (daylight saving time) on the first Tuesday in the month of November annually. The first race was held in 1861 with only 17 horses in the contest and the prize of 710 gold sovereigns and the credit goes to Frederick Standish member of the Victorian Turf Club form the idea of a horse race and call it the Melbourne Cup.
